NBA Jam
« on: September 06, 2011, 12:36:09 pm »
I just picked up and old NBA Jam Cabinet that I am wanting to restore.  The main board appears to be working but there is no game sound just some beeps.  The cabinet is in overall decent shape.  The problem I think I should tackle first is the monitor.  The picture is very, very dim and appears to be no color at all.  I'm thinking of doing a cap kit on it, but I don't know what or where to buy from.  The monitor is a WG I believe and measures 27" diag.  Any pointers on where to start would be appreciated.  Thanks!!!

You need the model number. WG ______
Then you can order that specific cap kit from one of several vendors.

So far the best I can find is WG 1233854.  Don't think this is the model number though.  According to the WG site the model numbers seem to have a K in the middle of em.  This may be a serial number?

Ahhhh-Haaaaa!!! With some cross checking I think I know the model number now.  I think it's  25K2193.  Now does anyone know where I can get a cap kit for it?  Thanks!

1st off nba jam never came 27" unless its a conversion, does your sound card have the volume pot on it ? If so turn the pot to see if you have any up and down, also make sure on the ribbon cable the red line is plugged into slot 1 on the pcb and sound card. hope that helps ya

25K2193 is a 25" monitor.

NBA Jam has a pot for sound that plugs into the smaller PCB. Go to the service menu and do a rom check
