TV Issues - Looking for input
« on: September 05, 2011, 09:14:40 am »
Greetings everyone!

Just put my new arcade together this past week and have been tweaking, re-tweaking, etc.

I've got a 24" Sanyo flat tube with S-Video out to my AGP card. Has been working great the past week - up until yesterday afternoon.

Came back downstairs to play a game, moved the mouse  to wake windows from power saver and then the TV shut itself off. I turn it on and within 2-3 seconds, it'll shut itself off again.

Any suggestions where to start? TV is not de-cased, just mounted in the cab.

Edit: *Grumbles about searching* Sorry to all.. I did search from the main forum but it didn't display results properly unless I specified the video thread. Reading through many, but if anyone has any thoughts, still would be appreciative.

Pulled the back off and blew out all the components, cleaned things up.

I can't see any caps that are bulging and the flyback looks (visually) fine so i'm not really sure whats up.

Screen turns on with no picture, then turns right back off after about 2-3 seconds.  :'(

When this happens thats the tv's way of telling you there's a problem that is bad enough to cause more damage...so it powers down on its own. Get it looked by a TV repair guy who knows those....it ain't like a regular arcade game monitor.
