How to connect Ribbon Cable 1988ish Super Chexx

I just got my hands on my first Super Chexx (88-93 version) and I'm very excited. I paid $600 for it from a guy who needed the money but it may have a few scoreboard issues.

I know its a simple question but what is the proper way to insert the Ribbon cable into the Main board. The instructions that came with it simply state "The locking edge of the ribbon cable connector should face the rear of the Base. Do not force or connect Backwards or damage will occur"

What is the locking edge? I have attached a picture link below, should the warning tape on the ribbon face you as your open the coin door?

or should the other side? also I see on the board it has blue and orange dots on it but I don't see any matching spots on the ribbon.

Does anyone have this same exact board (board with 1-4 dip switches) and can post a picture or explain how the ribbon should connect, I am a little nervous as I've read it will fry your board if you insert incorrectly.

Is it also true that the bubble hinge should be opposite the coin door? this makes the ribbon have to go across the base to reach the board?
