MGoArcade - modified Vewlix - 1st cabinet build
« on: August 08, 2011, 10:49:42 pm »
Hey everyone,
I've been meaning to post this for quite a while.  I've always wanted to build a MAME cabinet and when I stumbled across Donovan Myers' vewlix cabinet last summer I knew it was time to get started.  Attached are pics of the cabinet so far.  Basically it still needs to be painted and there is a lot of work to do in hyperspin to get everything ready.

I'm also considering installing a KVM switch so that I can have both my PC and a PS3 in the cabinet but I haven't found one that will handle both the USB controllers and the HDMI connection.

Thanks for the link.  I checked newegg a few months a go and didn't see anything that looked like it would work.  I'll have to check it out and see if it will meet my needs.

The sticks are Mad Catz TE S sticks.  I got the plexi-cover from Art at http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/ and I had d3vlicous from the shroyuken forums (http://www.d3vlicious.com/) do the art work.

The sticks work great but part of me thinks I should make my own control panel.  I'm also considering replacing the bezel I made with smoked glass.
