The web genius, Anyone try it?

Have you guys seen http://us.akinator.com/  It's a "genie" that can guess whatever character your thunking of by asking you questions.

I tryed it with, regan from the exorcist, tarman from return of the living dead, robocop and a killerklown from outerspace. it got them all on the first guess. it's pretty cool to mess with.

Stumped him with "Cody" from the obscure (at least in the States) Australian movie "Frog Dreaming" (aka "The Quest" and "The Go-Kids").

It works but if you go for aything even remotely obscure, especially from video games, it takes a long time.

Took like 15-20 questions to get to Mileena from MK.

Interesting.... it only took 3 or 4 questions to get Rukia from Bleach.  Don't you think that Mileena would be better known than Rukia?

Mike Nelson (MST3K) - 2nd guess
Pol Pot - 1st Guess
Mrs Buttersworth - 1st guess
Jimmy Lee (AKA Spike) from Double Dragon - Didn't guess (It guessed Ken from Street Fighter, Paul from Tekken and Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat)

Took all three guesses for Mordecai from the Regular Show.

Couldn't get King Raminas from FFXII.

34 questions and 3 guesses for Kylar Stern of the Night Angel Trilogy.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I think whatever elfin magic that powers that site needs some work.

I thought I would try an easy one  (RYU)  and I thought it would get it quickly as the 3rd question it asked was "was your character created by capcom?"

It already knew that the guy was male, didn't have blond hair, and was good so you would think maybe two more questions and it's done.

It asked like 8 more and it's first guess:  Kitana from MK????  It asked if the character was made by capcom and I said yes so how  could it gues kitana?

After two more questions it got it though.

It's seeded by the responses provided by the users. All it takes is dedicated users giving it bad input to start to ruin it. There used to be an online 20-questions game that worked rather well until people starting telling it that it was wrong and that everything was a carrot.

I guess no one told it the carrot cake is a lie.

Yeah, I've used it for quite a while (well over a year or more), and even play the iPhone app. If you look at the answers it expects, you can see how wrong the information is sometimes that users feed it.

Tried it and it got Jenna Jameson right! Pretty crazy, what kind of database is this thing querying?

I don’t feel safe anymore.

Stumped it with Pehr Henrik Ling, the "founder" of Swedish (and thereby almost all "western" modalities of) massage.

Yup. That was pretty obscure.
