Problem with TV out :-/
« on: September 07, 2003, 04:06:14 pm »
First off, i'm on XP using a Geforce4 Ti4200 128mb...

I'm using a flat panel monitor right now, and I notice a small line that goes horizontally through the screen and slowly travels up while playing games... This also happens when I use the TV-Out option

Any clue on how to fix this? Could it be bad connections or resolution settings?

Thanks for any help :)

If it only happens during MAME then it is probably a MAME setting and not a hardware problem.  Try playing the game at a different resolution or refresh rate.

for the sake of argument... try using smootmame... and report back.

I'm guessing what you are seeing is often refered to as  "tearing"

(of course I may be, and frequently am wrong)

I've encountered this before, and fixed it by getting better cables for video and audio. (oddly the cheap Radio Shack 1/8" to phono plug adapter was causing interference in the video)

I have this same problem.  I'm using an S-video to Composite adapter from svideocables.com (web address may be wrong :P)
