Removing insides
« on: July 29, 2011, 04:04:48 pm »
I have what was told was a mortal combat cab converted to a 4 player NBA hangtime.
The monitor image gets clipped, so I'm going to swap out for a 27 inch LCD monitor.
I understand the discharge I need to do, just had a few questions about other components .
Once discharged am I safe handling the chassis to remove , the neck board and psu, I've read some that say if you are just pulling everything , there is no need to discharge as your not popping the anode cap off, any insight would be helpful as I have the first time jitters, I know it won't kill me just looking to avoid the bite.
Thanks again, also if anyone in San Diego wants to take the monitor and chassis off my hands it's yours to haul away, it works and could be tweaked  I'm sure

Pictures are overrated anyway.
