From the help page...

1. Unzip the file into the MAMEWAH folder.
    You might want to give it a subfolder or rename it
    so you can use multiple files.
2. In MAMEWAH, go to
    "Emulator Settings -> List Generation Settings",
    and set "CatVer Filename".
3. Refresh the games list.

In MAMEWAH, just point to your catver.ini in the 'Emulator Settings' > 'List Generation Settings' section.  Refresh the list and you will then be able to view+filter by said categories

Even after you choose the method, rom only etc., you can sort the list by categories (it uses catver.ini)

I recommend rom folder vs listinfo

Then, filter the categories for the ones you want.
