WILLIAMS' DEVASTATOR
« on: July 23, 2011, 09:57:16 pm »
Does anyone have any pics or info on this prototype game other than this flyer reference?

http://flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page=flyer&db=videodb&id=299&image=1

I swear I played this game at Toronto's WONDERLAND amusement park back in 1986 while waiting for the evening's THE CURE concert at the park ampitheater.

It was a sit-down cab where your legs were straight, not bent at the knees, and the monitor was at your feet.
There was a joystick on both sides of the seat and while you played the WHOLE game moved up and down and side to side.

I never saw the game at any other arcade before or since. Has anyone else seen it or played it or am I delusional or just getting old?

The concert was great we were on the lawn and a T-storm strolled through and the band kept playing with lightning above the stage--the promoters couldn't have asked for a better light show.

The only drag, next to the oppresive summer heat, was the fact that we were from south of the border and couldn't bring all of our necessary provisions and the native habitat were indulging close by and they wouldn't share. So much for Canadian hospitality.

I STILL would GREATLY APPRECIATE any info on DEVASTATORS.

Can't really find much but KLOV has a small description of it, pretty much telling me that it was essentially another Defender but with more features.
Where's my gold star :P
