Mame Marquee Wanted
« on: July 23, 2011, 06:14:16 pm »
Hi

I have been a long time lurker and with the help of these forums have finally got my cab pretty much done apart from the artwork, and am now in need of a marquee.

As I am unable to think of a name for my machine, i was wanting to go with a Mame themed marquee, so was wondering if any of you have a copy of either of the following (in any format, psd, ai, etc) so that I can modify it a bit before printing.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

Lemaru

Any help much appreciated

arent these from gameongrafix??

email scott and tell him you want him to print this but you need the file to make some changes. I am sure he'll send it to you(or lose potential customer!)

No joy, they wont send out the files as in the past they have ended up on competitors sites....

Looks like thats the end of that plan then :( Annoying as i had my other art sorted! Back to the drawing board!

Did you ask if Scott can do the changes for you? (and how much?)

Is this Kerry?  If it is, Like I told ya, If someone is to recreate the artwork, it will be more expensive.  I am sure Scott can make any changes you desire...

Nope it's not kerry, lol... Still looking for a marquee... the cab is looking a tad naked without one! Trouble with gameongrafix is that I'm based in the UK, and inernational shipping is stupidly expensive (half as much again as the maquee itself is costing) :(

I don't know if i'm 'allowed' to re-create it. (it wouldn't be hard) any copy right issues on this.
As i could get some time to make a .PSD (would be fairly close i'm guessing.)
Or is that bad taste on my part??

A quick and dirty attempt attached - i believe pixelhugger is the creator of the atomic logo - unsure of the creator of the marquee. However, i certainly don't want to get on Scott's off side.
So let me know what you want to change and i'll email scott to find out if he's happy with that - As i could just send you the PNG or TIFF.

My art is always free for you to download and modify as you see fit...
Why?... because I could never find any art I loved on the net. So I played around with Photoshop and wish to share it with the arcade community.

That looks awesome. Things i wanted to change were the background, was wanting to try it with the fusion explosion image (http://arcadeartlibrary.com/arcade_art/details.php?image_id=296) and see if it looks any good, or there was an awesome planetscape sort of scene i found (but thats at home). And maybe try a different colour scheme (my cabinet is all black with silver t-molding, no side art) but dont know what will look good.

Though I have spotted a post with the font used on that marquee, so if i could actually brush up on my photoshop id give it a bash myself.

OK here is the marquee with the fusion background - it all comes down to what you think looks good.
I hope this maybe enough for you to have a play with and maybe come up with something you like.

If it was me i would clean the boarder with a vectored curve as it does have some jaggies there, but they aren't bad as ususally no one would be looking that close  ;)

AWESOME!! Thats great dude... Thanks alot for that, would of taken me ages to come up with summat similar. I'm gonna have a play and try some different backgrounds. Means I can print a couple on paper to try out before spending on getting a proper one printed.

I do wish I was any good with art and design stuff... thanks again mate!
