Phoenix Dust Storm...

Any of you AZ people get caught in this?  Luckily I was home at the time, took these pictures from my back yard, and then ran in...

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

About a minute after I took these pictures, it was pitch black out.

Nah...  knocked over the trashcans, dumped dust & debris in the pool, but that was it.  Everything outside is covered with a layer of brown dust.

Usually get a few dust storms a year, but I've never seen one this size before.

I was in Tempe last night, and there were a few intermittent power outages during the actual storm, the dust hung in the air for over an hour. Ive never seen so many dirty cars in this town at one time.
I've been in a few zero visibility dust storms in NM, between Albuquerque and Gallup, but they usually are pretty short in duration, and nowhere near as large.. This was definitely something new for me after 11 years in the desert.

Wow.
I remember many "dust storms" as a kid living out that way, but never anything of that size.

Yeah, a lot of the people who I work with have been here 30+ years, and they say this is the biggest they've seen...
