Need something designed? examples inside...
« on: September 04, 2003, 12:10:45 pm »
Thought I'd post a good example of a freelance job I just finished up for someone.  These are just two pieces out of a complete set I did for him.

Also a shameless plug letting people know I'm available to do completely original, unique designs to complement your cab and personal tastes.  You won't get the usual 10-fighter-chars-on-a-background from me (unless you really want it ;) ). I will add a section to my website soon to show off some of the stuff I've done for members of these boards, to give a better idea of what to expect from me.

If you're interested just PM or email me.

Here's the marquee - the look we were going for is a machine/industrial style.
Comments welcome :)

And here is a 'backsplash' that will go over a section of the cab directly behind the control panel and beneath the monitor.

Is this an "out of the goodness of your heart" endevour or are you charging? (I assume you're charging but doesn't hurt to ask  ;) ). Can you give a rough cost to design side art (same for both sides, just mirrored), control panel underlay and marquee? I'm into the futuristic techno kinda stuff, kinda like what you displayed at the start of this thread. My favorite game is R-Type and I'm toying with the name "Terminal Distortion" on my marquee... Beyond that I have no artistic talent or idea whatsover. You can see my cab at the www link below my avatar.

edit: actually I need a matching (but not too distracting) monitor bezel too. I can supply exact dimensions / cad drawings for everything...

I can vouch for Frosty's work, it is nothing less than superb. He is very easy to work with and quick too. I'll be "hiring" him again some day to change the layout of my control panel he did for me.

Thanks Birdtales :) I'd like to add that he was great to work with, just another example why these boards are the among the best on the net.

While I do create a lot of free stuff for the boards, the stuff I'm talking about would cost you.  My regular freelance fee is much much higher, but I like people on these boards and if I can do something nice for them then I'll give 'em a good discount.  Prices vary, and I'd prefer not to just start quoting in this thread.  PM me with your specific needs and I'll let you know.  Like any job, it all depends on what you need done.  Thanks!  :)

Hey, I've already seen the fantastic examples of your work on these boards, I don't need any convincing of your skills! I've stated pretty much all my requirements in the earlier posting. Quote me via PM/e-mail or send me a PM/e-mail telling me what additional information you need.

Recap of requirements:

Sideart (left and right same but mirrored)
Marquee
Control Panel Underlay
Monitor Bezel

Theme can be futuristic/techno/industrial (possibly incorporating visuals loosely resembling R-Type?) I just want it to look cool and non-specific.

Thanks!

Frosty,

Thanks, you have just given me the inspiration I needed!

I need to rebuild the top of my CP, because I switched from a KidsBall to a Betson.

I have been trying to come up with a new idea fro the CP graphics, and now I have it.

Mine won't look anything like yours, but yours did finally get the wheels turning in my head.

Oh great work by the way. I love the circuit board background.

Real Life.  Still a poor substitute for video games!

Looks sharp, tidy, very original but hasn't got the "retro" look that many people is after...  :)

Hope everyone had a great holiday, I know I did.  Tho the flu hit me pretty hard, that didn't keep me from having fun!  I had a chance to work on my website a little.  I updated it with pics of stuff I've been doing for other people.  The response has been great, thanks everyone who's hired me so far!  :)

Here's a link. (click on the 'Hire Me' menu button).
