Hi there Have a Ultracade UVC and having trouble getting it to work properly.  Looks like this is is firmware ver 2.04.  I am using this with an older nvidia card.  windows xp. Monitor is WG K7000 series 25". I understand that this has several dip switches etc and I have tried different settings etc.  Heres where I am at with this thing.  I power up pc and arcade monitor and what happens is the "splash screen" of the UVC comes on and it initially states that the pc imput resolution is in 640x480 it then changes to pc screen for a brief moment goes back to splash screen then shows the windows xp start up screen then the splash screen comes back on and shows the pc imput resolution at 1024x768 and at this point it stays on the splash screen and it never goes back to the pc screen.  This only happens when i have the dip switches set to auto detect imput resolution.  I can change dip switch settings  to manually set imput resolution to 640x480 and 800x600 but when i do this i get the splash screen and never get past that it never changes to pc screen.  I have the pc monitor set at 800x600 and am completely stuck.  wondering if anyone out there has had similar problems or luck with this UVC any help greatly appreciated.

Ok figured some things out tonight.  This is something that I think that people should know if they are considering purchasing this UVC.  I dont know if others have experienced the same situation but.  The only way that this would work is if the computer was connected through a direct connection via vga cable.  Initially I was using a dvi to vga adapter as my video card only has the dvi out.  I then decided to disable the video card and run the cable from the onboard video from the motherboard wich has a vga style output.  I now have windows on my arcade monitor.

I however am not experiencing a new issue.

The image will not stay held vertically.  when the system and UVC boot up and the initial splash screen and windows start up images show up they are scrolling vertically.  Once windows loads the image stops scrolling but the top is in the center.  I adjust the image via the arcade monitors vert hold pot.  get the image stable.  However once i start to click on windows folders to load mame etc the image starts to scroll again.  even simple things such as open and closing pages or hitting the windows key will make the image scroll slowly.

Any imput??

Good info here about the DVI --> VGA adapter.

I'm not sure about your new issue, sounds like a sync issue. I would double check your resolution settings in windows and make sure it's compatible with the UVC, and your monitor. I don't have a UVC myself, but I've been reading up on them lately for a project, looks like something I want to pick up.

You should contact emphatic (a member here), he has pretty good experiences with the UVC and have written up a great review on his site (warning, his site may give you massive gamer-envy). ;)

I have a compatible imput resolution set for the UVC wich is 800x600 coming in to the UVC from the PC.  Looks like it syncs up fine but this i found was only when i went off of the onboard grafics off of the mobo as it has a vga output.  So right now i have a window image up have been able to run some mame games wich look pretty good the only problem is that the image intermittently rolls.  This is happening when i go from mame to the windows desktop or open folders etc.  I saw somewhere that this could be the vert frequency pot or the 50-60 pot.  I tried to adjust this and it didnt help.  However i am not totally sure how to know exactly what hz its at. I dont think that its the vert hold pot on the monitor.  I recently did a cap kit on it and had and have none of these problems when using a regular jamma board.  the scrolling issue started after going to the uvc.  Checked out the website and its showing everything that i have so far wich was in the manual.  Image quality looks good with this thing just need to get the scrolling issue squared away.
