New to MAME need advice on a monitor..
« on: June 05, 2011, 01:43:52 am »
I'm new to MAME..just got my first set or ROM's but Ive been reading the forums for a while now...I'm ready to build my first cab however when i started reading the  WG D9800 was the monitor that everyone was speaking of..Now there are really no CRT Options left.. I'm looking to do the North Coast Custom Cab kit and so far I'm stuck at the monitor. I read the thread on the makvision tri-mode but they no longer have the one that goes up to xga resolution. I don't really care about the games looking authentic as much as them being playable. Also I have a 32" Toshiba t.v. that I can use it has component, composite and s-video inputs but the cab would have to be custom due to the size..I'm pretty handy so that wouldn't be a problem. I want a large screen as i will be doing a quad cab.. and if the venture is successful..a second cab eventually...

What would be the closest thing to plug and play I could get monitor wise... or would the Toshiba be a better option..???

Also my brother has a 32" sony wega flat glass tv with all the inputs plus his has a DVI input..how would this be as and option..would  the DVI make it easier to configure since its a crt?
