Hey guys, after 13 years of wanting to build a mame cabinet, I'm finally executing. I've spent the last couple of weeks catching up on the latest and greatest of what can be done and finally picked up a cabinet.
The cabinet was a converted X-Men VS Street Fighter. I can't figure out what it originally was, but it has a Sega emblem on the back with just FCC info on it. No model or serial numbers are on this thing. Either way, its got 6 buttons per person, perfect to get me started. It's got a 25" Zenith tube with a WG K7193 chassis.
I just took delivery of my j-pac and can't wait to get started, but a couple things are stopping me. First, I assumed this thing was a JAMMA cabinet, I'm a bit confused. The way the blue CPS2 board is attached is unlike most images I've found online. None of the harnesses are jumping out at me as THE jamma harness. I'm just a little confused. Can anyone help me identify all these hookups and plugs? (I've posted numerous photos below showing the cabinet).
The other thing is, I know that I'm supposed to un-attach the AC from the game board before I hook up the j-pac, but it looks like the power supply in this thing is a little more modern. Everything looks plugged in via molex. Do i just unplug the molex for the right lead? Anyone have a good idea which one it is?
The back of this thing is funky, you can see the cut out for the window to see in the cabinet, but thats basically all there is for access. I still haven't figured out how the back comes off, its like its just straight up glued to the side pieces. It's very odd. Any ideas on this would help a ton too.
I'm planning hooking up an Asus Pundit P1-AH2 with an Athlon 4400+ with 2GB of ram to it. It has an on board Nvidia 6150 I plan on using with Soft-15khz.
If anyone has any other good pro tips for me before I start digging into hooking this thing up to the j-pac, I'd LOVE to hear them!
Thanks so much to everyone in the community, you've already helped me a ton and I look forward to helping/getting help in the future!
Thanks!
