OT: Visual Pinball, why now????
« on: August 31, 2003, 04:24:25 pm »
Guys did you all get together and decide to try running visual pinball all at once?  There have been 7 threads about visual pinball in the past week or so.

Two questions come to mind.....

1. Why now?

2.  Why are you all making new threads instead of adding to an existing one?  Trust me, getting vp to work, regardless of the front end your using is practically the same.

I'm just curious, I really expect a response.

Since i asked the latest question, i'll answer first.  I originally planned to add it ot the cab, but it wasn't a high priority.  I've been sorting roms and tweaking windows and such.  I actually had never even looked at it until recently because it wasn't until now that my cab finished(relatively speaking, there will always be something to change).  I figured since everyone was asking questions about it, i might as well look into it.  So i read some the threads but they were mostly in regards to mamewah, which didn't really help me much.  For me i guess all the recent talk about it got me off my butt to go ahead and set it up.

"pinball Camp 'o3"

heh

yeah getting Vpinball to work isn't my problem... that was pretty straight forward... Getting the Wrapper to work wasn't a problem either (nice work on Howard's part) getting the wrapper to work on my cabinet is a problem...

sigh

I made a new thread simply for the fact that my question did not relate to any of the others, and I didn't want to divert the topic away from the original writers intention.

well im not sure, but i think i may have started the RECENT vpinball thread craze.  not sure, but anyway....i didnt even know about vpinball before.  i started thinking about what i wanted to put in my game room once i get a place of my own, so i was looking for actual pinball machines in a google search, but found vpinball after adding arcade to my search as well.  so then i got it running, but wanted to get it to work on mamewah.  now that minwah is working on it, its only a matter of time :-)

Shouldn't this thread be considered another V.P. thread?

Visual Pinball?  ooh, sounds cool.  I'll have to look into it, and post a new thread!

Has anyone made a dedicated VP machine?  I'm thinking it'd be cool to use a wide format TV, set vertically, and with the screen facing up - just like a pinball game - with the coin door and buttons in their respective places.

oh and peanut butter sucks.  So do jelly, bread, and milk.  (or maybe it's just Dr. Atkins who sucks, for the next few months.)
