Has anyone else had issues running Mess 142 and having issues with "SPC700.rom" not found ? The rom is present in a zipped file beside in the main directory. It just doesnt seem to spot it .
Any suggestions ?

This is a suggestion only but pull the file from the zip and put it in the bios / roms MESS directory. Then use your MESS GUI to point to it.

Well, your question piqued my interest so I thought I'd give it a try. I got exactly the same problem. Turns out this is a
known issue
.
Basically they suggest deleting everything in your ini directory and trying again. That didn't work for me but running messui again and re-specifying the bios directory (forcing a bios rescan) did.
