Solved: Help with Daphne in Mala
« on: May 14, 2011, 12:26:30 am »
I am trying to get Daphne to work in MALA - I refered to UncleT's document but had limited success.

One thing I have noticed is that I have No framefiles entries in my framefiles folder.  I downloaded everything with the autoinstaller, and have the DVDs.  It works when I run daphneloader, but when I run from a batch file, it crashes and my log looks like this.

--DAPHNE version 1.0.10
--Command line is: C:\Emulators\Programs\daphne\daphne.exe lair vldp
--CPU : AuthenticAMD 3150 MHz || Mem : 2816 megs
--OS : Windows XP/.NET || Video : ATI Radeon 3000 Graphics
--OpenGL: Compiled In
--RGB2YUV Function: MMX
--Line Blending Function: MMX
--Audio Mixing Function: MMX

Can anyone help ?  It is very frustrating.  I like MALA but it is not very user friendly to work through. :banghead:

One additional note that may help - I think I identified the movie files/framefiles (dlair.mv2 and a dlair.txt file which I think is the framefile), but these are both in a vldp_dl folder (when I move these files to the framefiles folder, I get a parsing error), but it seems to get just a little bit farther before it crashes...This is such a headache......  If I hear another #$&^# squeeky "Save me!"(when Daphne crashes) I'm gonna go Toki(Ape-Spit)

Any help would be great.

Thanks

I fiddled with it more and got Space ace to work once, and then worked on DL some more and now Ace konked out - At this point, it is complaining of missing rom files(this is rediculous - they are all present and downloaded through the loader).....What is crazy is that all games work when using the daphneloader.  Just not when using a command line.

 I even cut and pasted the command lines from the log files(following a successful launch through the daphneloader), but for some reason when using the command line, it dies.....This makes no sense, unless the command line does not function in the newest version.

I'm stumped.  And tired.

It's been a loooong time since I messed with it, but I remember that I ended up putting another copy of the daphne folder right on C:\
in addition to the emulators folder.  There was some path in Daphne itself that was just C:\daphne (not sure if it is capitalized or not) and I couldn't figure out how to change it.

Problem solved.  This is going to sound so stupid.  But I found out that if you used daphneloader at any time before using the command line, it causes problems.  If you use the command line only - no problem......Thanks for the advice though
