sharpies in different colors?
« on: August 29, 2003, 06:48:44 am »
I recently spent a few hours touching up the black parts of the sideart on my Battlezone with a sharpie. Can you get them in other colors? The majority of the (mostly teeny) sideart scrapes and flaws were on the black parts (which is the last color screened, and thus the first to scrape off), but it would be nice to touch up the other defects as well. (Not to mention try and cover up the pentagram scratched into the side of my Crystal Castles).
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

They also come in Blue, Red, and Green... But I think that's it.
Any decent office supply store should have them.

I got a 12 pack of all different colors from staples.com.

I've also seen like a 20 pack at Sam's Club.

I had bought a 8-pack that came in Black, red, blue, purple, orange, yellow, green and brown.

I have seen that they now have silver as well.

Real Life.  Still a poor substitute for video games!

I have the twelve pack (black, red, blue, green, yellow, orange, brown, purple, aqua, lime, berry, turquoise) they really do come in handy.

On their website they have examples of comon uses that I have to laugh at though:

Sharpies are great!  Only ducttape rivals their usefulness.  However a word of warning, sharpie color is slightly translucent, which means that when you color in a large area you get overlap marks.  Black works great, the other colors, not so much.  I would reccomend getting paint markers instead. Testers has had them out for hobbists for years, automotive quality paint in marker form.

If you need a broader range of colors with better applicators...look for Prismacolor markers at art stores.  20 bucks will get you the basic 12 colors...example LINK
