VisualBoyAdvance - Exit with Esc & no top Menu!
« on: August 29, 2003, 05:41:02 am »
Many people have been asking how to get rid of the top menu in VisualBoyAdvance and how to exit with the escape key.  Well, Catware has recently pointed out to me that you can achieve this by using the SDL version of the program and reassigning the keys.

I know there are others of you out there, who like me, didn't know this was possible!

Anyway, I've made a version (1.6a) available which has the default Mame keys, including exit with escape, already entered in the config file.  You can grab it here.

Note:  I have made it so games play full screen.  If you don't like this, simply edit the appropriate section of the "visualboyadvance.cfg" file to your own liking.  The SDL version also runs via command line only.

Thanks to Catware for the info on this!

Does any one know how to enable 320x240 mode for VBA?.
Im using Arcade VGA on a arcade monitor , but the 320X240 option is greyed out.It would be great to get rid of the interlace flicker.
Using 98SE by the way.

i know that i have mentioned using the sdl version at least twice on this board.  the remapping of the keys is a little tricky, but once you get past that, it works like a charm.
