Hey everyone, I am attempting my first Xbox pcb controller hack.  When looking at the slagcoin references, I see multiple ground points on the "common ground" controllers.

Now I am a total noob to this whole thing, but from what I am reading, it seems like I only need to ground one of these points.  I am not sure though.  I appreciate any guidance you all may have.  I'm planning on using one of the Mad Catz SF4 controllers.

Well you might want to specify it's a xbox 360 gamepad pcb, not just a xbox pcb (that would be the consoles motherboard).

If it is common ground then yes, you only need to use one, thus the name.  Just make sure that it is.

Btw... isn't the sf4 gamepad rather expensive?  You can get a generic madcatz for considerably less.

I apologize for not putting the word controller in the subject, I didn't even think about the Xbox's motherboard at the time.

I do appreciate the info on the common ground though.  So even though this picture (not the exact pcb board I will be using) has multiple common ground points, it is now my understanding that I only need to ground off one of them for the process to work.

As far as the SF4 gamepad, you can get them for less than $30 on the net.  And I heard they were really easy to hack, so I figured it would be a good place to start.  Here are the pics of the gamepad below

Thanks for the replies.

I hacked 2 of them. You can find a good thread about them on shoryuken.com

Yes they are common ground, so you just daisy chain of one ground from the pad
