Best way to hookup Monitor, HELP
« on: May 05, 2011, 01:22:25 pm »

Monitor Hookup

I have a monitor that has hdmi component and vga hook ups and I want to hook up my xbox 360. Which is the best way to do so with no lag and good picture? I have heard of vga cables with terrible ghosting, and that component is very laggy. I don't have an hdmi port on my xbox so thats kinda out. What do I do?

My monitor is this one:Newegg.com - ASUS VW266H Black 25.5" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1 (ASCR 20000:1) Built in Speakers w/ component connector

VGA cables get ugly when you try and run them a million feet or join a bunch together to get where you need them. if you use a good quality VGA cable it's absolutely fine.

Component is laggy? i have never heard that. Maybe if you have a bunch of processing done to the image (deblocking, video enhancements, etc.) most screens have a "game" mode that eliminates all video processing so there is no "lag" as you say.

oh and P.S. - Component VS. HDMI : http://www.bluejeanscable.com/articles/dvihdmicomponent.htm

So if I use the component I should be fine. I just want the best lagless picture possible. The Cabinet I am making is for mortal kombat (the 2011 one) and I want it to be as lagless as possible.
