Recommend best emulators that work with Mamewah.
« on: August 28, 2003, 04:25:31 pm »
The othe night I was messing around with some old roms and before I got into really customizing i was curious.

Which emulators work best with mamewah, I found that the ones i loaded into mamewah  still wanted to launch their own interface regardless. Am I doing something wrong? ???

Looking for Snes, nes, genesis, and N64. Thanks

Here is a baseline of what works on mine w/o any GUIs showing:
MAME (command line version)
SNES = ZSNESW (arcade compile version.. find in forums here)
NES = NNNesterJ (using Howard's wrapper)
N64 = Project64 (using Howard's wrapper)
Genesis = ?? don't use myself .. think I played with GENS before, but someone else would be better to ask there.

If you go to MameWAH's web site, and follow the links, he links to a web site with all this info.. including what settings to use in MameWAH and links to the re-compiled binaries for all these emulators that are MameWAH friendly.

ZSNES (only get the custom version if you demand exit on esc, otherwise it's customizable)

VirtuaNES (Same deal as above)

As for the rest, I haven't found any good ones yet.

SNES - zSNESfe
NES - VirtuaNes
Genesis - GensFE
N64 - Project 64

The FE versions of gens and zsnes exit when you press escape.

Check out this thread to make VirtuaNes exit w/ the esc key:

http://www.arcadecontrols.org/yabbse/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=10966;start=msg83884#msg83884

Stuzza has a Project64 esc key and the FE emulators posted here:
