Hantarex MTC 9110
« on: April 21, 2011, 06:09:58 am »
Hi All,
I have a problem with my monitor chassis( hantarex mtc 9110).One evening my dad was on my cab and it suddenly faded( picture was hard to see). I adjusted the contrast it was then ok. The next day it was dark again and even turning the flyback screen control up achieved a very faint picture. I tried adjusting the on board brightness preset (vr7) and nothing happend. So I read a few articles here and went through the check list. Flyback check, b+ and so on.I capped it as well and still the same. I read here a guy had the same problem and it turned out to be the vr7 so I removed it and because I never had a spare pot placed the board back in the cab without it and hey presto very bright picture.
I ordered the pot (220k ohm) and soldered in and now the picture is dark again.Does anyone have a clue where I should start looking.Could I leave the pot out or would this eventually do damage? I mean it was there for a reason and should do something.
Thanks
