Hi all,

I just finished my first Mame cab.  The only thing that lights up on my CP is my Electric Ice Trackball (thru a LEDWiz).

I've managed to get LedBlinky to operate the way I want in Hyperspin (blinking randomly to the audio thru speakers).

However, I find lots of blinking to be a bit distracting during gameplay and none of the included animations are really doing it for me in terms of gameplay.

I basically just want my trackball to stay 1 solid color during game play.  Easy enough right?  However, I want it to pick the solid color randomly.  I want it to have a chance to be solid red, blue, green, yellow purple, etc.

Any ideas on how to get this done?  I'm sure the animation editor can do it but I'm still trying to learn how to use it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And major kudos to the LEDBlinky developer(s).  Great piece of software.

You could create a long animation that changes the color every so often - it's not random, but a long sequence would seem random. Another option if you're not using any other animations would be to create a separate animation that just turns on a single color for say a minute. Create a bunch of these single color animations, one for each color. Then use the Random Montage feature - this will randomly choose an animation, run for a single frame, then choose another animation to run for one frame, and so on. That would give you a truly random result, but it only works if the 'single color animations' are the only ones in the \lwax folder.
Robots will kill you.

Thanks very much.  Both of your ideas sound like good solutions.

I just wanted to say that I tried your ideas and they worked out awesome.

I just took out all the default animations from the animation folder.  I then made a bunch of solid color animations and just have the games do a random animation.  Now games are just one color now but it is random.

I also made a real nice color rainbow transition that plays when I pause the game.

Thanks again for your great advice!
