Well, after a year of trying to convince the other half, I finally have my Mame Cabinet at home, running nicely (but needing a huge help in the software department), so I thought I'd post a link here to say "I'm In The Club, I've Got One."
This page on my Blog has my first thoughts and a picture.
http://www.symbiandiaries.com/archives/ewan/000508.htmlThe cabinet is based around the Defender design, with a more pronounced shelf under the controls for a keyboard tray. Two player "Streetfighter" layout, with two 'Coin Buttoons' on the door and a three button layout for P1, P2 and "Escape" butons.
A 17" Dell Monitor. and around 100 watts of sound power (plus a sub woofer in the base) are hooked into a P3 450 with 64mb (does Roms up toa round 1995 with little problems).
I'm using DOS Mame under Windows 98 and GLaunch as the Menu Interface.
