Hantarex Polo Flyback
« on: April 17, 2011, 04:24:27 pm »
I dont get very many Hantarex moniters to work on ...and I've run into this problem once before without solving it. How is the second anode removed from the neckboard without causing damage? This housing does not seem to want to come apart as most do.

I had the same problem...

http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=93411.0

...I just ended up pulling and twisting the wire and it just popped out.  Then I pushed the new wire in and it grabbed a hold of it.

depends on the socket type but most i work on you just push something like a cable tie in the small slot next to the wire and just pull out

In my fustrations with the original post, I called this wire the 2nd anode. My mistake. You guys are on the correct wire/problem though. There is no tab to push on with a screwdriver, nor do I see any possible way for this to come apart without ruining it. I even desoldered in from the neckboard hoping there would be some way for it to come apart removed , no luck. I'm hoping one of the moniter guru's has the magic trick?

Check out the photos in my thread.  I'm fairly certain there isn't any hole that I can poke something in to release the wire.  Like I said, gently pulling while twisting released the wire.

It appears that the wire was just tinned and pushed into the hole.  There must be some sort of mechanism that bites into the tinned wire and won't let it easily pull back out.  I think that's why I needed to twist while pulling.
