First build - showcase from scratch
« on: April 15, 2011, 01:11:54 pm »
Been lurking around here for a while and finally started to build. Doing the control panel first, since that will be my focus and just try to build around it.

I am temporarily putting the CP on a beer fridge, and the TV on an IKEA shelf headed for the dumpster. I think the next step is to build a stand for the CP and then finally a real stand for the TV.

Although now that I look at it, having a beer fridge right there makes me go 'hmmmmm...' ?

Pics below if I have this 'attachment' thing right.

Would be cool to incorporate the beer fridge into the CP stand with a clean look. That way whenever you go to grab a beer, you'll be tempted to play some games, and whenever you're playing some games, you'll be tempted to grab a beer.

Can you convert the fridge to a Kegerator, and have the tap extend out of the CP?

Ooh Ooh!  Better yet, could you incorporate the tap as a joystick, and henever you pulled "Down" you'd be pouring yourself a fresh beer?

Good god that would awesome... and messy!

Kegerator with a spout on top would require a lot of redesigning. I'm thinking the spout and drain bit right in the center where a trackball would be. Could be a great 2 player fighter only arcade. Maybe next time.

I'm going to frame around this ugly brown fridge and see if I can cover it up a bit. I lose the spot where I was going to hide my steering wheel, but its replaced with beer. So I can live with that.
