I do, but I have a an old 27" TV in there for my screen, so probably not nearly as useful for you. Damn thing was so heavy the 2x4s were basically by necessity lol.

Is it a VESA mount on the back? Just buy a standard flat wall mount VESA bracket, and attach it to the 2x4 mounted horizontally... $17

Yup that is what I did.  Mounted a VESA bracket to a single 2x4 and then used l brackets to mount the 2x4 in the cab

Thanks everyone...

It is but Im using 1/2'' MDF to cut down on weight and price and my LCD is 32'' wide. Its about 25 pounds. So I need the 2x4's for sure.

not to argue, but no you don't.  Half inch MDF is more than strong enough to hold 25 pounds.

Anyhow, no harm in it, you are just putting in extra work and making it heavier than it needs to be.  PICS!

Make sure you have a 2x4 frame for your milled steel cab.

use 1x2's instead.  Should be just fine.  THey build furniture out of just laminated particle board. It will be fine.  If not, go for the milled steel

I think cabinet building may be easier than I make it out to be.

Just tested my screws going from the MDF into the 2x4's. Its rock solid. No way Im going to need a frame for this TV.

How did you mount the 2x4 horizontally?

The frame makes the cab heavy and a great base support for a large Monitor.  Real arcade monitors are heavy and a frame is great support.  That being said a flat panel will not need one.

Now the flip side to all of this (and this is a personal preference) is I like a heavy cab.  I have a few 300lb buddies that love their fighting games.  When they really get into it, my heavy cab does not budge as they yank the joysticks.  I also built it knowing that I was not going to move the cab around.
