Convert Divx/H.264/Xvid to iPod/iPhone/iPad

Anyone know a simple free program to do this?  I suppose I'd be converting it to mp4.

I don't have an ipod, but I use the ipod presets in handbrake to convert videos for my droid.  They have settings for ipod touch or iphone before the retina display, after retina display, or ipad dpending on how much resolution you want.

I'll check it out.  I thought it would just rip, but I didn't know it would re-encode from one codec to another.

It does.  I go from .avi to .mp4 quite often for my Android phone or wife's Ipod.

Handbrake is perfect for this job and even has iPod/iPhone templates setup already....

Trying Handbrake, and it looks like it'll work great, but my in-law's crappy Vista computer's having issues with it.  Every time I try to browse to point to the destination path it locks up.  Lol . . . what a pain.

It might not be locked up.  If you have a lot of videos in the target folder it may take a long time to show any files.  I get that in Win 7 when using handbrake.

winavi mp4 converter is fast and converts anything for ipod/phone/pad

free if u naww what I mean :P
