MultiFE using touchscreen: Problems with Search Screen
« on: April 10, 2011, 05:54:22 am »
Hey guys! Long time since I was last on here.  GF made me get rid of my cabinet, grrrrrr! Got rid of said GF last year, lol!

Anyway, a friend is setting up a jukebox, and asked for my help.  At the moment it's configured with the following:

Windows XP SP3
MultiFE
TouchKit USB Touchscreen controller from egalax.com.tw

The issue I am having is that the search function works incorrectly with the touchscreen.  It's fine using the wired mouse.  Basically, when using the search, there is a click delay, causing the last letter entered to only work on the next mouse click.  Example...

Searching for ABCD
Pressing A on the onscreen keyboard seems to do nothing.
Pressing B causes A to appear.
Pressing C causes B to appear.
Pressing D causes C to appear etc...

There is multiple click modes available for the touchscreen. Normal mode, Click on touch, Click on release , Click on touch without moving cursor and Click on release without moving cursor.  The only mode that works as expected in MultiFE is NORMAL MODE.

Other than that, it's a great piece of software.  Only thing that I can see at the moment that would improve it would be the ability to skin it really. If I can get this working, I've told my friend to donate, but right now they are tearing their hair out lol!

Any help is appreciated!
Well I say let's get out there and TW*T it!

One good knee in the happy-sacks and it'll go down like any other smegger!

First time I heard any issues, while I was gone to working music for various other games (Warhawk DS, Jungool etc). So I have not touch long time into this FE (its me, that programmed it).

I have not a touchscreen my self, but its look like its some sort of a calibration error, which you need do that in the touchscreen driver (I guess the same behavior happens in other jukebox software too)?

Does this happens for selection music too as well the top buttons?

Or only in the search?

Also which resolution and rotation, do you use?

All I really can do is slight "move" the courser offset when touched.... If its something that its does? (etc try enable mouse pointer, and you can see what I mean).

PS. MutliFE was really never design to been skinned, but you change change bg, colors and such thing, and all images is in png format.
