Yeah, Instructables takes a lot of sifting through to find cool stuff. One of the entries is telling you how to cut a shield shape out of cardboard for a Legend of Zelda Costume. It ends with just telling you to wear a green shirt while holding your shield.
Yeah, some of them is basically just eHow material. I came across one on how to make a shadow box for an NES cart. Sure, it consisted of:
Step 1: Buy picture frame.
Step 2: Buy duct tape
Step 3: Buy a scrap piece of velvet.
Step 4: Tape velvet to inside of picture frame
Step 5: Tape cart to center of velvet
Step 6: Hang picture frame up
Step 7: Listen to your friends comment how cool it is. (actual step)

Another thing that gets me is that half of the cool things I really like do not instruct at all, but is just somebody showing off photos of their stuff. It kinda defeats whole the purpose of the website.
