Computer Gaming World gave it 4.5 stars out 5.  I think I will go pick it up.

They said that the light cycle races sucked though  :'(

I just went and downloaded the demo last night from the Nvidia website.  It has some tutorials and I think the first full level.  It also has some multiplayer lightcycle racing and disc arena.  I thought it was pretty fun.  The single player part was the best.  I was kind of disappointed with the light cycles though.  It seemed kinda laggy and the camera was weird.  The cycles don't completely suck, they just weren't as fun as the other parts.  I think though, that it'll be a pretty fun game.  The sounds and viuals were just like the movie only more modern.  Heck, go dload the demo and try it for yourself.  It's a big file though, about 207 mb, but well worth it if you have a fast connection.  If you're a fan of the movie you'll love throwing your disc around and bouncing it off the floor, walls, and ceilings! ;D

Don't for get Armegetron! (a multiplayer TRON lightcycle game)

(BTW there's a remote chance that this may be going away if the EU parliament has their way.  See here for details.)

Has anyone played this?  Is it any fun?

since nobody commented...

I'm blown away by the demo!  It seems very difficult though.  I'm picking it up tonight!  (and I don't easily pay $50 for a game)

music and sound are like the original movie soundtrack...   in gameplay you can control the disc in the air.  You can upgrade yourself by storing new code on your disc.  There are other weapons, but the disc seems like the most useful to me so far.  Lightcycles look exactly like the movie, even sound the same.  The characters and walls look just like the movie *should* have looked.  (they are higher quality.  No artifacts from the glow lines on costumes flashing on and off like in the movie.  But otherwise true to the original.)

Voice acting wasn't that good in the demo, but not bad for a game.  It didn't have the same feel as the movie acting.  I'll see if the full version is better.  :)

Heh, I've been playing it for a couple days now. I love it. Kinda has a Neuromancer feel to it as well (subroutines, corrupted mem blocks, and all that).. :P

Acting is a little better in the full version.  Or maybe I'm just used to it.  :)  It's very cool.  I just hope it's  long  too!
