Here are part of my plans
« on: August 25, 2003, 06:50:23 pm »
Well here is a part of my cabinet plans. I wanted something different and wanted everyones opinion. I didn't want it to be all squared out. Now I already cut the two sides out and they look good. I will post there pics soon. So even though this looks like alot more work will be involved I am hopefull it will be worth it!

Good looking plans.   It looks like the front bottom base would get in the way of a users toes.  Hard to tell from just the side view but I think foot room is a necessity.

Well my CP is going to have some over hang wich should help with this possible problem! If it doesn't I will build a new control panel that will! I also was thinking of stools. We will see as I go!

I can speak from experience on this one.  Give yourself more footroom.  Otherwise you'll be stubbing your toe during gameplay.

You could have the bottom "feet" parts on the sides as they are but, bring the coin door front piece straight down.  This way you keep the look from the sides and have toe room in the front.

Wow you read my mind that is what I was planning to do! Well actually the feet in the front will only be a few inches wide with lots of room between them! Basically 2 pieces of MDF with a 2x4 between them that continues threw to the back side. Should help give it strength. Now the back will be complete across with no gap. Unless I change it again!!  :)

I've seen people do this before and it doesn't look right. Look around at other cabinets. All the feet are going to do is get in the way. You don't need them for stability.
My statements are my own opinions. They have the value that the reader gives them. My opinion of my opinion varies between foolish and brilliant and these opinions often change with new information.

Well I got it cut and trust me it does look good the way I did it and since the legs don't come out that far my contol panels overhang should give plenty of foot room. As long as I leave the t-molding until I am alot further along I can always fix that and make it staight if I change my mind.
