Some games wont save scores using custom diff
« on: March 24, 2011, 08:34:24 am »
Hi all, before posting I read up everything I could about mame compiling and have successfully compiled a mame exe of 141u3 with the hi-score no nag diff.

I was using mameui64 before and even though most games save the high scores, some of them dont. The game I really want to get high scores working on is Space Pilot.

I copied the compiled mame into my mame folder and ran it which works fine (no more nag screens yay) but even though everything is working, I still cant save scores on Space Pilot.

Is there a way round this, have I gone wrong, or perhaps you just cant save scores in Space Pilot?

Has anyone got this rom and can see if their version will save scores?

Also as a side note, I see that a lot of people compile their own mame exe to get saves working, but most games seem to save anyway using mameui64? Is this compiled to save games by default, or is it only some games that dont save with vanilla mame?

Thanks for your help,

James.

Don't know if you will read this but you can go here:  http://www.mameworld.info/highscore/download.htm
to find out what games are supported and what games are not...
as of now it does show that it is supported

Does any of your other high scores save?

Thanks for the info, in the end I just compiled my own version of mame 64 and now high scores work on pretty much all games :)
