Preparing my cab for HS 2.0 - dynamic marquee
« on: March 20, 2011, 08:29:46 pm »
Still have not finished building my cabinet, but it's already ready for HS 2.0! I added a 27" screen and now I have 3 monitors in the cab, main screen 29" CRT, touch screen 7" in the CP, and now also 27" screen for the marquee, I think it looks realy awesome

the little stripe of light above the marquee will disappear after I will change the screen resolution

*Sorry for the bad quality, maybe I'll upload new video soon with better quality

what do you think ?

So if I understand what I'm seeing; Ths is a 27" 16:10 aspect ratio lcd that is divided by a strip of something to make it appear to be a marquee and a led scroller? It comes off better than I would imagine! I'd like to see some more detail, including measurements of the display areas....cool idea, i know RandyT did something like this a while back....I've failed to keep up on future development for hyperspin, what is planned for 2.0?

I did this in photoshop before I bought the screen to know how it will look when it's done

You should look up Randy T's video marquee.  He did what you are doing, but instead of a Beta Brite, he used the top part of the LCD.  It looks pretty sweet.  Then you would only have to drive 2 monitors, and you could do something else with the betabrite

i saw randy video but i think it's look way better with the betabrite show the company, year, etc instead of display now playing ( BBB said you can make an overlay on top so you can do something like randy did with HS ) you can read more here
