Jamestown - 4player SHMUP

Looks very Cave, bullet-hell-esque. Those with 4p panels should keep an eye on this one, if you're into this genre of games.

looks awesome. I'll buy it.

I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

It's been released. Just bought it for only $8.95, currently downloading.

Edit: Pretty fun so far. Kind of slow game play for a shmup though.

Can you play 2 players on 1 keyboard (ipac for example)?

Yeah, I think they tuned it with the multiplayer aspect in mind. Slow it down for 4 players to keep an eye on things. Hoping it picks up faster later in the game.

Not sure. You do program what buttons are used for each player when starting (game asks to press and hold fire, etc...), I haven't tried selecting multiplayer yet to see if it asks what buttons/keys are used for directions though.

Haven't tried harder difficulties yet (at work right now), hoping a harder difficulty is faster.

Finally got around to installing this on my cab (that doesn't have an internet connection) today. Pretty neat having it the cab, but I don't like having to have Steam installed on it either. I wish you could map the controls once and be done with it, instead of mapping them everytime you start the game... Also, due to my unique control set up for P1 and P2, those positions are useless, I can only play the game with my P3 and P4 positions... Still fun on the cab though!

Anyone else have this in their cab?

I remember mooching this off of someone's unused Humble Indie Bundle code. Jamestown's tough enough to just about require four players to even beat it.

Played it quite a bit on steam. Never thought about trying to put it into a cab. Most PC games are just ornery enough with function keys that they don't tend to play nice in the cab, and also my cab PC is my OLD gaming PC and my current gaming PC will have it's 5th birthday this year, so I don't even know if it would run on the thing.
