The Human Centipede
« on: March 17, 2011, 01:13:10 pm »
Just watched this on Netflix last night. Probably one of the most disturbing things I have seen on film. Granted I dont watch a lot of indie flicks, or Asian horror/anime, cause who knows, the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- in this movie could be common, but damn. Pretty gross. Anyone else seen this movie? I thought it was going to be more scary, rather than gross.   :puke
Pictures are overrated anyway.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions on this flick. I saw the full trailer on the film, and had a feeling that it was only designed to shock and disturb people into losing their lunches.

I don't especially feel like being induced to vomit right now, but I'll keep this movie in mind in case I accidentally swallow some drain cleaner.   :lol

Haha rock on Vigo. I didnt know anything about it AT ALL when I was perusing Netflix for something to watch. Good thing the GF wasnt around, she would have whined about turning it off cause it was so gross. I wanted to see the end, and it ended pretty much how I expected it to end.

Sounds good!  :laugh2:

I had to explain the story to my wife...she was asking me about it when i was watching it...( She overheard the Asian guy cursing )...
I wasnt impressed... But my wife then got back at me by making me sit down and watch "Teeth"... Im still reeling over that one...

I wasnt really "impressed" to say the least either, but I had no idea that it was going to turn out like that. Still pretty gross IMO. Oh man. Whats that one about? Lemme guess, someone getting their teeth ripped out or something.  ;D

If that's the movie I'm thinking of, then I thinks its about a woman with teeth in her cooch...and she "bites" people.  :scared

No, that's "Teeth".

I thought Teeth was actually kinda funny :)  The old 'vagina dentata' thing.

Human Centipede looks intriguing just from a "wtf" perspective (I've not seen it yet). But that's the allure of horror films like this. It pegs the "who the hell would have thought of such a thing?" meter. They are supposed to make you feel uncomfortable, like the thrill of a roller coaster where you feel you are out of control and could die at any minute.

Yes you are correct sir... Which is why i liked THC  and also Teeth... (yeah she has teeth in her cooch)...

THC had the aspects of what would scare me... old german surgeon, middle of nowhere, trapped etc... Maybe i am sick in my own mind, but what i didnt like was that they didnt go more into detail of showing progression of the actual surgury...
Doctor: "I vill do vhis and vas, vool vill ve my greatest creation!" and BAM they are in the front as doctor's new house pet...
It woul dhave been nice to see some of his past "creations"... to add more fear to the mix...

I surprisingly liked Teeth. I read what it was about and only watched it out of curiousity but expected it to be stupid. I found it entertaining.

I haven't watched THC yet. I was planning on it eventually though.

I found THC utterly predictable and unimpressive. To me the whole affair seemed much more 'unfortunate' than it did disturbing.

Well yeah that too, I guess Im lame then. I thought it was pretty damn gross. I guess the whole ass to mouth thing, and the ending are what made me have kind of like a WTF moment.

Teeth in the cooch though would make me have nightmares. Im not watching that one.  :scared

In a book I read, there's a scene where a soldier is making it with a fantasy woman - he can't tell whether she exists, whether it's all a dream, what - and as she's riding him, she turns into this creature called the Shrike - a metallic, barb-wire and scythe-wrapped thing - that has jaws in in its crotch.

And, sinking his flesh into the cutting flesh of the thing, he throws it off him, just as the jaws are snapping shut

This was long before Teeth, of course.

I watched Teeth yesterday.  What a trip.  Funniest "HORROR" movie I've seen in a long time.  The ob/gyn laying on the floor screaming was killing me.

Yes, vagina dentata is an actual myth that has been around for a long time to keep boys from being promiscuous. The movie Teeth was based on this myth. I don't know how long it goes back though. There is a scene in an Anime called Wicked City similar to what you describe as well.
