Recommended emulators for these consoles?
« on: August 24, 2003, 12:46:52 pm »
Just wondering some opinions, views on the best emulators for the following consoles.  Compatibility with roms is very important obviously, and accuracy to original game is important.  The ability to exit with esc is a very nice feature and also 2 player ability.  Thanks.

Atari 5200
Atari 7800
Intellivision
Colecovision
Sega Master System
Turbo Grafx 16
Nintendo Gameboy (mono)
Nintendo Gameboy (color)
Gameboy Advance
Neo Geo Pocket
Atari Lynx
Nintendo 64
Sega 32x
Sega Game Gear

Thanks for any suggestions for these.  I figure I should ask before downloading some and then finding out there is something better.

Gameboy Advance:  It's too new, you are stealing directly from programmers mouths.  Go buy one.

Nintendo 64:  Nintendo 64 emulation is far from complete.  Buy a n64, unless you want to deal with several n64 emulators, each running a handful of games properly.

Sorry just my little reality check.

SNES = ZSNES

The only thing I don't like about ZSNES is that when you hit ESC, it brings up the menu.  I'd love it if it would just exit.

If you don't like using command line wrappers, I also have modified versions of the following emus that will exit with escape, mirrored at my site:

GensFE
ZsnesW
FCEUltra
Project 64
Z26
