Toshiba P5032KE no image

I have 2 of these monitors that have both failed in the same way at the same time.
the Toshiba P5032ke is a large rear projection monitor (in this cases fitted to a Wartran Troopers game)

the monitors initially try to start up and then shut down after around 3 seconds giving no further signs of life apart from cooling fans running until you unplug the power for longer than 30 seconds.

you can initially hear the HT supply start up and then almost instantly shut down again.
there is no glow from the back of the tubes.

these monitors were both in perfect working order before the machine was moved (I was not present when they were moved so I have no idea of the treatment they received) upon arrival at the new location they were both found to be in their current state.
each monitor has a seperate psu giving 100V AC, both psu's are working and stable at 102V & 104V. the only other connection of any sort to the monitor is a vga lead, plugging a standarg lcd monitor into the lead shows that the game itself is running and outputting video to both monitors.

feeding a different signal to the monitors (from a laptop) has no effect at all although the laptop does detect the new monitor attached.

does anyone have a manual for these monitors or know of a likely common fault that happens on these monitors

projo's have numerous safety shutdown circuits.
loss of deflection, over voltage /current, XRP etc...
 sry , no print 

start by checking for loose pcb connectors - yoke/convergence connections.
also inspect for swelled 'lytic caps ( replace if found)

ihvt ring cracks are common on any crt based set, and same with vert output ic's .

and..., rough handling can crack boards....

The fault will be on the smaller of the three pcbs on the right hand side as you look from the back.

If you use a hot air gun and warm that pcb up, then switch it on you will find that the screen will come on but the convergence will probably be out, it will then work for the rest of the day but won't start up tomorrow....

They just don't like the damp air.

you may well be getting a call regarding repair of these screens (believe it or not they are closer to where you are than me since they are in mablethorpe)

Turns out myself and Richard were not only talking about the same model of monitors we were talking about the same machine.

after speaking with Richard I now know that hitting the board with a heat gun has got the screens up and running
