Soft15Khz question
« on: February 15, 2011, 03:48:06 am »
Hello all

Can't find this anywhere and I'm sure I've missed it, but should I install 25 and 31khz along with 15khz while using soft15khz?  I'm installing a mame system in an arcade cabinet with a wells gardner monitor.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Chris

You only install those if your monitor does those modes. What WG is it?

Thanks so much for the reply.  It appears to be a k7000.  At least that's the booklet that came with it.  Do you know if there's a place on the monitor that I can verify that?

Thanks again.
Chris

A K7000 series is a standard resolution only monitor (ie: 15kHz). You can verify this by looking on or around the chassis for a sticker that has the specific model number like K7125 or something. I've also seen labels on the metal frame at the top of the tube. It is NOT the model of the tube itself. Those are made by a variety of manufacturers, much in the same way the brand name of a capacitor on the board is not the model of the entire unit.

Thank you so much!  I was leaning towards putting all of them in and hoping the jpac would "filter" out the bad ones or whatever I'm trying to sound smart about...  In the end, I really appreciate the quick reply and I'll shoot for that!

Thanks again.
