U2000/K7400 Monitor problems
« on: February 13, 2011, 10:34:12 am »
I just recently bought a monitor auction that has a crystal clear image in the original cabinet; however, when I took it out and put it in my MK2 machine I get the image that you see attached. I have replaced the video sync cable, remote pot board. The image is better than it was. there is now no ghosting and the image is not rolling. You can see though that I have a garbled image that appears to overlay itself 4 times. I am at a complete loss as to what to do next. I have been trying to get this machine working for almost a year now.

I have four cabinets and this is the first one that I have tackled in terms of getting back up and running.

I have attached 4 images. the first is what I am seeing when I kick the machine on. The others are pictures of the chassis. Any ideas? I am tempted to call the local shop but they charge $65 just to stop by the house for an hour. That doesn't even make sense to me, but, if I can't fix it here then I will have to go that route.

You've put a standard resolution monitor into a machine that's medium resolution.

I think that game has a bank of dip switches to set medium or standard resolution video output. Read the game manual to find out.

MK2 is standard res only as far as I know.  Manual appears to confirm (DIP switches just adjust various game settings such as attract sound, violence levels, etc. and pricing).

The MK2 machine is a standard resolution machine. I do not have a copy of the manual. Do you know where I could find one?

Here is the spec sheet for the MK2 machine:

I wonder could a loose yoke, maybe getting slightly turned in transit or tube swap, cause this issue! Thinking about this again, prob not(the picture would be obviously turned :-[)
Try your chassis in a diff cab(if poss),to see if its the tube or chassis :dunno

Looks like a horizontal issue
