Flash page services for free from me...
« on: August 21, 2003, 06:08:37 pm »
Alright, I need to have some kinda flash project going on, so I'm offering someone a free Flash MX page, if you just want me to convert over your HTML page that's fine, or if you want me to make a whole new site that'll be fine too, just take a bit longer.  I specialize in intro's as well, and I have techniques to reduce the size of a flash file as well, so dont worry bout it taking up too much space.  I can't provide web space sorry, I'm just doing this for practice basically, and if you don't like it, you can just throw it out I suppose.

Well I was just about to start building a site for my machine, but I have zero Flash experience. I was just gonnd do stright HTML. I don't have alot of material already coded. I do have pictures, though. I also have my own web space with my own subdomain.

What are you doing this for? Is this for a class project or just for the heck of it or what?

This is just so I can get back into Flash, I haven't really had a project since SNaaake asked me to do his intro.  If I do a real good job I can put it on my resume, but I dont know if it's gonna be THAT good, but mostly practice, and I'd like to experiment with some visual effects.  I'd provide the layout, I'll take pictures to put into the webpage, but I like a lot of freedom with my work.
Also I've decided on majoring in Computer Engineering, and I got a Computer programming and design class coming up so doing some flash will definitely help sharpening my skills.  And anyone who's interested, I dont require anything in return except credit for my work so I can prove I created the website, best way to reach me outside of this board is through AIM, S/N: CthulhuLA

Alright, considering AlanS17 and Shieldwolf have both not made contact with me beyond one message, this offer is still up for grabs.  I might be able to do multiple intros cause those are easy, or have an intro going while I'm doing a website.  And if AlanS17 or ShieldWolf read this, AIM me or Email me or something so I know your still interested please!

maybe a little different project...a little shooting menu carnival the old sega game style.

i was planning to make one myself to be used instead of my shoot at galaxian menu in my fe but i just don't have the time right now...

basic idea:

like in carnival sprites move horizontally and you can shoot them...the sprites represent the different category's...so for example mario for platofrm games, pacman for maze games etc.

Hmm.. ya know I think flashkit.com has a tutorial on how to do movement and stuff, so I might be able to do something like your saying.  i've seen your FE, its very cool, and I like the way it goes, I might be able to put together a webpage like that although it might be a little slow on slower processors.  It'd be cool to expand my flash knowledge doing a project like that, and I'm pretty sure I can actually do it pretty easily.  Well once I get some spare time, I'll look into it, and see if I can come up with some good sketches maybe in my chemistry class or something, since I know I'm gonna be bored in there.

just let me know when you start...it's pretty easy to do...just some variables that tell director what to do...and we can discuss the boring technical details ;-)

collision detection is build into flash since version 5 sow that is also real easy now...my shooting menu was made in flash 4 with some very weird scripting...
