Control Panel/Artwork Idea

I am trying to think of a theme/artwork for my bartop cabinet I'm building.  I have blue buttons and red ball top joystick (could always change too I guess).  I was trying to think of a certain game to base the build on.  I never really got in to any specific arcade game, but one computer game I did enjoy younger was Descent.  I was planning on painting the cabinet black, but wanted to try to think of theme too.

I was thinking of having the control panel have the cockpit on it similar to this screenshot:

I could then put the blue globes on the side (been a while since I played, but I believe it was essentially health):

And the marquee would have some space background with "Arcade" or some title in the Descent Font:

What do you guys think?  I know a lot of people frown upon non-arcade themes, but thought this would be similar to the "space" theme a lot of people go with.

Heck, I've had a Red Wings cab, UofM cab and right now have a Cylon inspired cab.

"The Descent" sounds like an excellent Theme for a cab.
The Cockpit for the CPO is a great idea too.

Would love to see what you come up with.
