Neotec 2515C Vertical collapse
« on: February 09, 2011, 10:33:06 pm »
I have a Neotec 2515CGA that's shrunken to a thin horizontal line. The vertical deflection IC (IC301) has been changed, that wasn't the problem. I have also changed C307 & C308.

The IC I installed was an NTE1855. I couldn't find an LA7835 at any of my usual suppliers.

The V HOLD pot is good, as well as the wiring between the chassis and remote board.

The picture turned from being clear and sharp to looking like a watercolor painting. I turned the game off, then back on, and was greeted with a thin horizontal line.

What next?

the original chip spec'd in the maunal for IC301 is an LA7836 not an LA7835

the NTE cross is an NTE7085 not an NTE 1855

I know that, but the 7835 is what was on the monitor when I took it apart. It had never been serviced before.  Besides, no tech EVER re-installs the 2 screws close to the front of the tube

I hear that!

IC401?

it's tied to the vertical... it's where the timing signals for ic301 come from. i usually replace 401 first, then 301 if it's still flat lining.
