Anyone in the Twin Cities area need a 27" monitor?
« on: February 09, 2011, 10:22:55 pm »
I figured I'd throw this out there... My wife works for a local fitness center and they swapped out their 27" 4:3 Sony Trinitron TV's this week for four new 32" Vieras. The TV's have been donated to me.

These are Sony FD Trinitron WEGA 27" TV's. They would make great candidates for monitor replacements using either S-video or component inputs.

These TV's have channel/input memory, and power return, which means they will power back on after being cut from power (would work great with a power strip or smart strip.)

I'm not looking for any money for these TVs. Rather, I'd like to barter for other arcade related items you might have. Shoot me a PM if you're interested in one and we'll chat a bit about what kind of a deal we can work out.

Its too bad I already bought a 24" sony wega last fall on craigslist for my cabinet... I would of traded you the NFL Blitz board that Im ripping out of my mame cabinet... I dont think the 27" would fit anways, it was pretty tight with the 24" already.

These are great TV's, really. They work very nicely in a 25" cab setup. Yes, you have to de-case the TV, but once you get a mounting system set up, they are very nice. Being able to plug them into a power strip and have them instantly come on when you turn your cab on to the correct input means only one power button on your MAME rig. Plus, the tv takes about 3-4 seconds to warm up, which means if you've done a good job hiding your boot screen and Windows, you don't even see the bios screen at startup. Very nice.

Still 3 of these left....

Yeah, that was actually a surprise feature I didnt know about when I picked mine up, it powers on when you plug it in and remembers the last input it was on, very awesome. I may just come and get one of them from you just under principal alone  :D Do you know what the dimensions are ear to ear on these things? my cab is only 26.5" wide.

BUMP! I still have 3 of these beautful TV's. These are GREAT for MAME - power return, S-video, component video, all the trimmings.
