AdvanceMESS Help
« on: August 21, 2003, 03:09:27 pm »
I'm trying to get AdvanceMESS to work on a WG-D9200.  I am running Win98 and I have downloaded bot the DOS and Win32 versions of regular MESS and have gottne both to run just fine.  I then tried to use AdvanceMESS but the screen just goes black.  I see the "OK" nag screen come up (just like AdvanceMAME) but after I get past that screen it just turns black and I have to hit ESC to exit.  For the advmess.rc file I just copied the video device entires from my advmame.rc file (I know those work fine for Advance MAME).  Any ideas ?

BTW: I'm trying to play the Genesis game Streets of Rage 2 :-)

Mess is a Mess, lots of games are not supported.  Your better off using a specific emulator.
GENS works great.

But the reason I wanted to use AdvanceMESS is because I wanted it to output the Genesis video at 320x224 (?) 60HZ.  I have tried some IRC channels and have also e-mailed the AdvanceMAME mailing list with no luck :(

I'm beginning to wonder if AdvanceMESS even works or if anyone has actually ever used it :)  I have yet to find anyone that uses it.

yea, people have used it...

I have yet to find anyone that uses it.

but using each individual emu has so many more advantages... like compadibility with more than 10 games per system
