DragonKing Question.....
« on: August 19, 2003, 08:46:37 pm »
Alright, I'm sure this has been answered before, but I can't seem to find the post (even after LOTS of searching).... I am using 0.81 on my main computer just fine with MAME32 0.72. I just made a new dedicated computer with WinXP Pro that is has not had any off-topic stuff loaded onto it, minus Windows Updates. Everything in the ini's is setup fine, and dragonking intro video plays, etc. When it comes time for the program to actually show stuff, the screen just goes black. I can get to the setup menu by hitting tab, but the main DragonKing window is blank. I can even start and play games from DragonKing, it just doesn't show the FE itself. I have set my TextureMode to AUTO, and my Rendering to software, but still the same issue. Any help would REALLY be appreciated. Thanks!

Actually, I stayed up late last night and played around with it, and it ended up being the video card. I had tried a couple PCI cards, and a old SiS6326 card, and they didn't work, but as soon as I threw a AGP GeForce 2 in there, it worked like a charm. Thanks guys!

If you had read the faq you would know that in order to get dk to run you need a card with hardware acceleration.

Generic sis cards use shared system memory, which means no acceleration.;)
