Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 to Mame Power Question
« on: January 25, 2011, 09:24:33 pm »
Hello

I'm hoping to convert an Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 machine to Mame for my nephews.  However, I plan on holding onto the board so that I can convert it back after they are grown.  Basically, I don't want to damage the integrity of the machine.

I think I have a very simple solution for the power, but I would like to confirm it before I screw anything up.  Would it be possible to disconnect the switching power supply (it currently is running at approx. 130 AC volts) and run a power strip into that wire?  From there I could plug the computer in and leave the rest of the power wiring in the machine alone?  When I'm ready to convert it back to Ultimate MK3 I would then replace the wiring from the power strip back to the switching power supply.  Would this be feasible and not destroy anything?

Thank you in advance and I promise that it is not my intention to simply gut the machine.
Chris
