Need laptop help

i have a laptop that freezes in windows xp in normal mode when battery is left in but not in safemode.  when i take the battery out and run it on the plug it works find in both normal and safe mode.  anyone know a fix for this?

figured it out...........bad battery replaced it and everything works fine now
